The Nation's Leading Optical Management / Consulting Company

About Us

Kurt Behrle and Joseph Casorio, licensed opticians and inventive businessmen, saw a void in the optical dispensary market; a void they knew their business model for outsourcing optical dispensaries could fill. After creating a business plan based on their model, partners Behrle and Casorio established Vision Associates, Inc., and began the year 1993 by managing four ophthalmology dispensaries. Not only did they have a vision for the future of dispensaries, the philosophy that fueled their business, Vision Associates, became synonymous with VISION: Value, Integrity, Service, Innovation, Outsourcing and Networking.

Throughout the years their VISION philosophy has remained a constant; one that has propelled Vision Associates to rapid growth and continued success. From the day the doors opened, Vision Associates grew and by 1996, developed a full-service optical laboratory facility, to accommodate the speed with which the company expanded. By 1997, Vision Associates was responsible for managing 15 ophthalmology dispensaries, and by 1998 that number increased to 21 dispensaries. The intense escalation required them to build a state-of-the-art facility at 5 Powder Horn Drive in Warren, NJ. This new, one-of-a-kind headquarters merged the laboratory, corporate office and frame inventory department under one, sleek, modern roof. Adding to its responsibilities, Vision Associates was now managing 30 ophthalmology dispensaries. Never willing to stand still, in 2001 Vision Associates computerized its entire operation, streamlining efficiencies, and consequently becoming even more productive, increasing management totals to 37 dispensaries.

As Vision Associates developed, Behrle and Casorio were willing to make the decisions necessary to both facilitate and keep up with the growth. In 2002 Vision Associates’ optical laboratory facility was acquired by Essilor Labs of America, the nation’s leading lens manufacturer. This networking opportunity and business alliance enabled Vision Associates to benefit from Essilor’s expertise and high-tech resources, while continuing to grow the company to the point where it was managing 42 ophthalmology dispensaries. By 2004 that number grew to over 65 and as a result expanded in multiple states throughout the country.

It is the same VISION philosophy that Behrle and Casorio developed in 1993 that remains with them today, as Vision Associates continues its expansion and participates in professional events such as American Academy of Ophthalmology and ASCRS. Behrle and Casorio remain at the helm of Vision Associates, a nationally recognized leader in ophthalmology dispensing. Looking towards the future, Vision Associates will continue to grow, while remaining true to its personal VISION:

Value, Integrity, Service, Innovation, Outsourcing and Networking..
